June Snippits

Aidan finally cut some chompers during this time. Nathaniel had five teeth by seven months; he looked somewhat like a baby with little pearly-white dentures. Not Aidan, our little toothless wonder. He'd been drooling like a faucet, but he was all gums until now: two little itty-bitty teeth centered on his bottom jaw.

Nathaniel picked up his Little Einsteins rocket, but the batteries were obviously running low. Instead of its usual, "Hold on tight, 'cause here we gooooooooo! Wheeeeeeee!" it mustered only, "Hold on tight, 'cause here we g-..." before stopping abruptly. Surprised, Nathaniel exclaimed, "Oh no! It has the hiccups!"

Month of May Make-Up

We now have a new still camera and video camera. Also, I have a laptop from school which enables me to work on the blog whilst still downstairs, as opposed to timing it during dual nap times - now virtually impossible. So, I am hereby renewing my commitment to keeping a more updated family blog. It is August, so I'll post May, June, and July retroactively.

May 23, 2009: We went to the neighborhood pool of my friend & coworker Nancy.











We continued to work with Nathaniel and potty training during this month. Apparently, I've used the phrase "shiny and clean" to describe things to Nathaniel, I guess when cleaning around the house? At any rate, he must have heard it at some time, because after one particularly messy diaper clean-up, I asked didn't it feel nice to have a nice, clean bum? He grinned, and said, "shiny and clean!"

Here's another Potty Training quote from this month that I'll never forget. Nathaniel said something that sounded apologetic for having a bowel movement. Concerned, I reassured him: "Oh no, honey! You'll either put your poop in a diaper or the potty, but it's okay. Everybody poops." He put his hands on either cheek, just like Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone and said woefully, "Oh no! Poor everybody!"
